We have developed and released a new model of laser jacket cutter equipped with a CO₂ laser, suitable for processing outer jackets and internal dielectrics.
Because CO₂ lasers are reflected off the surface of metallic conductors, it is possible to selectively process only the outer sheath and internal dielectric without damaging the conductor. Furthermore, by using numerical control and recipe management to adjust laser irradiation conditions and focal position, setup changes are no longer required when processing cables with different wire diameters, enabling the system to be used for both small-lot, high-variety production and mass production as well as prototyping and development.
